Paulo

We are excited to introduce Paulo Venancio as the new Mechanical Workshop Controller at TRT, Hamilton, New Zealand. With over 20 years of experience in the automotive and heavy vehicle industry, Paulo brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the team.

Paulo began his career in South Africa in 1996 as an apprentice at Mercedes-Benz, where he qualified as a mechanic in 2000. He worked extensively with Mercedes-Benz vehicles, gaining invaluable experience with premium brands. In 2018, Paulo moved to New Zealand, where he worked for New Zealand Trucks and Cal Isuzu after the company was acquired.

Before joining TRT, Paulo spent five years at Keith Andrews Trucks in Hamilton, initially starting as a mechanic. His dedication and technical expertise led to a quick promotion to Workshop Foreman, where he managed a team of 16. Paulo’s experience included working on a wide range of brands, including Mercedes-Benz, Fuso, and Freightliner.

Paulo then moved to Keith Andrews Trucks in Wellington as the Workshop Controller, where he oversaw all aspects of the workshop, from booking vehicles and managing job costs to troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues. His role included a hands-on approach to problem-solving, allowing him to support the team with technical expertise and improve workshop efficiency.

When asked why he was excited to join TRT, Paulo said: “I’m excited to work with the brands I know and love, like Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner, as TRT is one of their service agents. The company culture here is great, I’m also looking forward to working with Jason Karauti again, having worked with him in the past, I know how he leads and I’m excited to be part of the team.”

We’re thrilled to have Paulo join the TRT team. His extensive experience and leadership will be a great asset to our workshop operations and customer service.
