TRT (Tidd Ross Todd Limited) is pleased to announce the appointment of Darryl Stevenson to the position of Mechanical Service Manager.

With over 30 years of experience, Darryl brings extensive networks, skillful experience, and immense capabilities right across the industry.

Darryl’s career in the heavy automotive industry began in Matamata, New Zealand, as a Diesel Mechanic apprentice at J Swap Contractors for 4 years. He then shifted to Wellington, taking on a leadership role at Gough, Gough, and Hamer’s Caterpillar workshop for two years. Following this, he gained significant mechanical experience in the Australian mining sector. After Australia, Darryl expanded his expertise in London, gaining experience in the UK and Europe. In 2002, upon returning to New Zealand, he made the decision to establish his own Mechanical business, which successfully operated until 2019 in Te Kowhai, Hamilton.

In his new role at TRT, Darryl will be leading responsibility for the front-line focus on Mechanical Services in Hamilton, New Zealand. This includes building our reputation as the official service agents for Mercedes Benz, Freightliner, and Iveco.

Darryl says,” I’ve had a longstanding relationship with TRT for years. Throughout my business ownership, their exceptional parts support was invaluable, and I have always got on extremely well with the people beforehand, so I was excited to accept this new position.”

"The TRT team is truly outstanding. Each member is approachable, friendly, and holds an extensive wealth of knowledge gained through years of experience. Individuals like Gavin, who's been part of the team for 25 years, Duke for over 45 years, and Robert (Floody) for more than 42. It's rare to find companies today with employees boasting over 40 years of service, a testament to TRT's strong ethical culture deeply embedded within TRT's foundation. I am really looking forward to working in a business that genuinely values their employees and recognises the importance of retaining such exceptional talent.”

TRT’s General Manager of Sales, Gavin Halley says, “It’s important we have the right person in this role to deliver our ongoing commitment and promise to our customers. Darryl is highly respected in the industry and already well-adapted to the ins and outs of our business.”

"We're dedicated to upholding the company's mission of enhancing our capacity to exceed customer expectations. When customers choose TRT to support their business, whether it's for truck repairs, servicing, maintenance, or parts support, we want them to feel confident with the team they are placing their trust in. Having the right person with the technical skills and knowledge to lead that team will provide that trust. I found in Darryl someone who could assist us in delivering comprehensive, expert, end to end solutions to our valued customers.”
